Bahamas here we come!

.
This is the phone call I got at work today:
.
"Babe, I won a trip to the Bahamas!"
 Me: "Say what?"
.
"Yeah, they just called and I got a free trip to the Bahamas"
Me: "Who called?"
.
"Majestic ~ they pay for everything, except for the flight there. They need our credit card number for that."
Me: "Hold on a sec, they said you won a trip and then they asked you if you had a credit card?"
.
"Yeah, why?"

.
I used to wonder WHO falls for these type of scams.
.
Now I get to sit beside him on the couch every night.

Oh no! Did he give them the number?!

Hey, I've missed you, girlie!! It was so good to hear from you!! *love and hugs*

That is too funny! It reminds me of something the hubs did during our second year of living together. You know those random faxes that are sent to work sometimes, claiming that you get 3 timeshares for anywhere in the world for only $300? The only cost to you is the plane ticket…well, hubs actually bought one…$350 US we'll never see again…

I'll be posting about Cuba soon…just know that I'll never go back to that country…nor any other that is overtly socialist or communist - NO THANK YOU!

Tweets - I know, I'm sick of the cold too :-(

Blonde - Oh no, he didn't but only because I started shrieking at him...lol. He was totally going to call them back with our number, can you believe it?!

HamiHarri - uh-oh...I am fearful of your next post, although I can't wait to read it, tell me tell me!!

I am SO glad you caught that request for the credit card. Too many people get so excited about the trip, that they don't think straight. You're a smart cookie! "VV"

Just telling it like it is said...

Almost darn....
Bahamas over rated any who...
Sex on the couch priceless....

VV - yeah, I've worked as a telemarketer in the past...(I hesitate to admit) so I tend to be overly skeptical about these things. When something seems too good to be true...

Just telling - I've never been to the Bahamas. I'd love to though. Maybe one day when we can actually afford to pay for it, we'll go :-)

A FREE trip and you didn't take it?

Haha. I think everyone has had those calls. My daughters heard one of the messages one day, or they answered or something. Anyway, it took a while to explain to them WHY it wasn't free. Then you have to get into the concept of 'scam'. It's easier to just never answer the phone.
Love that post! Sometimes even the most (seemingly) intelligent people get caught up with scams. We had about a foot of snow yesterday and today it's -15. I'm not quite sure how I would react if someone called me and offered a FREE trip someplace hot.
Hahaha...

He was joking wasn't he??

I got one of those "free Bahama vacation" deals in the mail last week. I called to get the 411 because of course I was skeptical and sure enough they wanted me to pay over $700 which did not include the airfare. Somehow that doesn't sound free to me.

Shhh! about the baby blog...lol...it's just something silly I'm writing...mainly for myself...perhaps "one day" I'll make it public...it's not very exciting...lol

I haven't published your comment though 'cause I don't want the family (ie aunts and parent-in-law) knowing about it...lol...and they aren't very blog sauvy so they likely won't find out on their own...lol

Cuba wasn't as bad I probably led you to believe...it just had a really bad vibe for us...will post as soon as I get through the pics ;)

PS Are you on twitter yet?!

HAHA, I've always wondered who falls for those scams too. Good to know there are still people out there that trusting though. And thank god he didn't end up giving them his credit card number!

I always wonder that when an email comes through at my work "Thank you so-and-so for letting us know that they received trying to scam us out of money" who believes this stuff. Funny, I get those emails all the time, realize they are a scam and deleted them. Granted, it was never via phone...

Hey, your posts are few and far between. What's going on? Everything okay? "VV"

My husband did the exact same thing! Not only did he give them his credit card number.....but agreed to pay a penalty IF we did not go on the trip! NICE!

Hey there,
Yup...you have to watch those things. There always seems to be a catch.I used to be a telemarketer and 9 times out of 10 there is some sort of catch to that sort of stuff.
