Or so they say....

Bear with me as I re-post a couple of posts from my previous blog... Jp's kids are in town from Montreal til August 9th,
(yes - both of them, and NO they don't speak english!)
So I don't have time for new posts... I know there are a handful of reders who followed me here from my old blog, and if you've read this before, I appologize.

A little padding never hurt anyone...
.
But how would you feel if you had a playdate for your 5 year old one afternoon...
.
Let's suppose Ms. Snobby dropped off her junior at your house.
Then suppose you tried not to notice her looks of disaproval as she notices that your house is probably 3 times smaller than hers.
.
Furthermore suppose that the same Ms. Snobby comes back to pick up junior and wants to come in. Suppose you let the kids play quietly by themselves, and are quite proud of how nicely and quietly they've been playing.
.
Assume that you let Ms. Snobby into the house and together you go to get junior for her. Then suppose they are not in their room, so you call for them. Pretend that their voices are coming from the bathroom down the hall...
.
Skip to the part where you enter the bathroom, and find the kids sticking maxi pads ALL OVER YOUR BATHROOM WALLS. ("mom, we're wallpapering your bathroom")
.
How would you feel?

Yup, that's EXACTLY how I felt.

I really love that story. How about a follow-up?
Okay, skip ahead a couple of years with your daughter and remember this one...
I gave Heather THE talk. Her mood swings warrented telling her at 9, plus some of the other girls are being told as well. I didn't give her the baby talk, she didn't ask and I didn't tell. We had the PERIOD talk. I have books, I explain, we talk. She wants to SEE supplies. I get supplies. She wants to see how supplies work. I showed her. She had to put supplies in water. She wanted to keep supplies because she thought it was 'neat'. I drew the line there.
...things to look forward to...

Hahah...I can't wait to have the TALK!

By the way, you just reminded me of a new idea to post about, no not the talk, but you reminded me anyway... I'll post about it soon.

Maybe Ms.Snobby's kid will grow up to be a decorator! :)

Tweets - it should be fun.

Queen - I've missed you while you were out vacationing! Yeah perhaps on the how 'not' to decorate show...

HAHA, I did the SAME thing to my mom when I was little. She thought I was playing so nice and quietly until I came down to her dinner party covered in "stickers." :P Funny story!

Awesome. I once made a space ship using the cardboard tube from a tampon.

Mamacita - it's nice to see that the story is funny, once many many years have passed. At that moment, there was nothing funny. Just a lot of embarrassment.

Annie - Yeah, bring junior for playdates at my place anytime, I think you and i'd be fine (wink)

Diesel - Love those spaceships. Wouldn't it be fun if someone had asked what it was made out of? lol.

LOL!!! Hilarious.

Just telling it like it is said...

At least they were trying to help you out and decorate the walls..
When my son was 5 yrs. old he said to me," Mommy I know where that goes" as he pointed to the tampon box under the bathroom sink. Where I asked him? He said" in your pee pee" My eye bugging out I asked him how did he know that? He said, " I looked at the directions"...At least he admitted to looking at direction...
